The School District of Athens will be closed tomorrow Monday, March 24th due to inclement weather. There will be no after school activities or athletic events.

AES 4th graders read about pioneer life in their SS class. Today they sampled Johnny Cake, homemade maple syrup, made butter, sampled pork rinds and made clove apples.

Ann Weigand is the staff member with lots of siblings whom she loves very much. Yay for you if you guessed her!

Throughout February, Mrs. Hartwig's preschoolers were busy learning about kindness and conducted various acts of kindness. We made cards for our bus drivers and made valentines for teachers at AES and the Athens Vet Clinic. We also sent kindness hugs to loved ones near and far.

Jessica Bunkelman is the staff member who judged livestock and poultry in college, loves to bake, and prefers books over movies. Go binge on a movie if you've guessed her!

In honor of our Raise Craze and Kindness Acts the Fourth Graders in Mrs. Luther's classroom created Word Art describing faculty and staff at AES.

We have had the registration window only open a couple of days and already have over 15% of the familes register for next year! That is a great start! Let's keep that number growing. If you are having issues or lack a computer at home, you can go to your building office tomorrow during parent-teacher conferences from 3:30 to 7:30 for some help. No appointment need. The first graders at AES have been learning about US symbols, presidents, and patriotism. They performed poems and songs for their families and enjoyed a patriotic treat generously provided by the YES group.

Can you guess the staff member who works at AMS/AHS and Maple Grove? She was an assistant livestock judging coach and assistant poultry judging coach while in college. Attention AMS and AHS families: it's almost time for state assessments and soon, end of year testing too. Would you like to learn some test-taking strategies? Of course you just said, "YES please!".
